On June 7th, John, Lillian, and myself went for my 20 week ultrasound! My blood pressure was good, 116/68 and I have gained a total of 1.5 pounds. There was no protein in my urine! Now, it was time for the main event.....the ultrasound! The tech asked Lily what she thought the baby was and she said boy without any hesitation. Lily was determine that it was a boy. She wanted a brother so bad! So, the tech asked if I wanted to know the gender right away, I said no. I wanted to make sure the baby was measuring right before I knew the gender. So, she took measurements and everything was measuring great. Baby looked healthy. Heart rate was 158. Anyway, right in the middle of her assessment, she stops and says, "well, I already know the gender." We all looked at the screen a little more closely....sure enough, it's a BOY!!! The tech asked Lily, "what do you think about that?" Lily said, "I knew it." John, Lily, and I all had a feeling it was a boy. Baby boy is healthy, the tech wasn't able to get a good picture of the baby's 4 heart chambers. So, when I go back next time, I will get another ultrasound....fine by me!!!
After the ultrasound, I got to see Dr. Beckman. He asked how I was doing. I have been having a lot of heart palpitations. I figured it was PACs (premature atrial complex) which are harmless. However, sometimes it takes my breathe away. So, we both agree that I would watch it a little more closely, maybe get away at work and get an EKG or hook myself up on the monitor if I felt it again while I was there. If it gets pretty bad, then he will have me wear a halter monitor. Which we both think that is a waste of time right now. Other than that, I have been doing pretty good. I am finally starting to eat better. Not always so nauseaous.
My next appointment is July 3rd. I should be getting my c-section date. I am really hoping for October 22nd!!! We will see if I get it!
